In the fragrant forests of southern India, as well as in Australia and New Caledonia, the slow-growing trees mature for decades until their heartwood forms the precious essential oil. It is gently distilled all year round, often only after 15–20 years. The scent is velvety and creamy, warm and subtly sweet, with a meditative depth that lends compositions elegance and long-lasting softness.
