Fragrance Concentrations - Eau de Parfum or Extrait?
What makes a perfume?
A perfume is never just a scent. It is a composition of precious essences, embedded in alcohol and water. What many people don't know: perfumes differ not only in character but also in their concentration – and that is exactly what determines intensity, longevity and how well a fragrance suits the skin.
The different qualities
Eau de Cologne (EdC) – very light, 2–5% fragrance oil, refreshing, fades quickly.
Eau de Toilette (EdT) – 5–10% fragrance oil, easy to wear every day, for a short appearance.
Eau de Parfum (EdP) – 10–20% fragrance oil, balanced, elegant, a reliable companion for hours.
Extrait de Parfum (Parfum) – 20–40% fragrance oil, intense, sensual, luxurious, with a depth that lingers.
Why extraits are so precious
An extrait is like an artfully condensed poem. Every drop contains more essence, more nature, more soul.
Longer longevity: an extrait unfolds over many hours – sometimes into the next day.
Complexity: more fragrance oil means more layers, more nuances, more depth.
A sense of luxury: a single drop is enough to create an aura.
Extraits are more precious because high-quality essences are used in high concentration.
Alcohol and skin – an underestimated truth
Most perfumes contain a high proportion of alcohol. It acts as a carrier so the fragrance unfolds quickly. However:
A high alcohol content dries out the skin, which can become sensitive, irritated or brittle.
As a result, a fragrance often feels sharp and fleeting instead of warm and close to the skin.
An extrait, on the other hand, contains significantly less alcohol and more pure fragrance oils. This makes it not only gentler on the skin, but also gives the fragrance a creamier, softer sillage.
Concentration with responsibility
Our Extraits de Parfum give you depth, elegance and longevity without the harshness of excessive alcohol.
Because we believe: a fragrance should enhance you, not burden your health.
Feel the difference. Experience how an extrait unfolds on your skin – warm, soft, unmistakable.
