How to Store Perfume Properly
The quiet care of your fragrances
A perfume is a living composition of precious essences that resonate in perfect harmony. But like any fine work of art, a fragrance is delicate. To keep its beauty, it needs the right environment.
What you should protect your perfume from:
LIGHT
UV rays alter the molecules. A bottle in the sun loses its soul faster.
Our recommendation: always keep your perfumes in the dark.
HEAT
Heat accelerates chemical processes. Even the finest extrait can turn.
Our recommendation: store at room temperature, away from radiators or other heat sources.
AIR
Oxygen is the silent enemy of every essence. An open bottle loses intensity.
Our recommendation: always close bottles tightly.
HUMIDITY
Bathrooms are tempting, but steam and temperature changes make them risky.
Our recommendation: a dry place with constant humidity is ideal (e.g. your office or bedroom).
Tips for proper storage
Keep it in the original bottle: it offers the best protection against external influences.
Store it in the box: the packaging is more than decoration, it is also a shield.
Lying down or upright? Always upright, so the closure stays tight.
The collector's rule: if you own many fragrances, keep them in a drawer or closed cabinet – dark, cool, dry.
How long perfume lasts
A high-quality Eau de Parfum or Extrait usually keeps for 3–5 years. Some extraits last considerably longer when protected.
If the colour changes significantly, or the fragrance smells "sour" or unfamiliar, it is time to say goodbye.
An extrait with a high fragrance-oil content is more stable and longer-lasting than an Eau de Toilette with a high alcohol content.
Our recommendation
Our fragrances are designed to bring you joy for many years. Keep them like little treasures – away from sun, heat and air. Every bottle tells a story, and as with a good wine, its value is preserved when it is treated with care.
Give your perfume ritual a little appreciation and protect your treasures. Because a fragrance is a memory, and memories deserve a safe place.
